Van Alstyne ISD Child Nutrition
Charging Policy
To help monitor your child’s meal account and ensure they always have a positive balance, the district encourages you to take advantage of our online payment system, https://family.schoolcafe.com/VAISD. You can use this system to deposit money into your child’s account, as well as to sign up for low balance or negative balance email alerts. You can also send money in the form of a check or cash to school with the student.
Students who do not have a positive balance will be able to charge meals up to $15, after which an alternate meal at a reduced price (.40 lunches) will be offered. This meal will consist of a cheese sandwich, fruit, and milk. The alternate breakfast meal will consist of a milk (.30 breakfasts). Only reimbursable meals are allowed to be charged.
