MISSION
The mission of the Van Alstyne ISD Police Department is to effectively and efficiently provide for the protection of lives and property, preserve public peace, and, with the highest level of professionalism and ethical standards, provide district staff and administrators specialized services, strengthening their ability to prepare our students for the challenges of the future.

All members of the Van Alstyne ISD Police Department must realize that our integrity is our most valuable asset and is to be protected at all cost. Honesty will always be our guide in dealing with the community and with each other.

We recognize that our success is dependent upon the trust and confidence of the citizens of our community, and we shall always engage in behavior that is above reproach. We are committed to the highest standards of the law enforcement profession.

We will constantly be on our guard against threats, hazards, or dangers that threaten the safety and security of our students, staff, administrators and the community we serve.
LEADERSHIP
The leadership qualities of all Department members must be developed in order that they may assume progressively greater responsibilities within the Department and the community we serve.

Peace officers shall be aware of the extent and limitation of their authority in the enforcement of the law, and shall endeavor to uphold the spirit of the law, as opposed to merely enforcing the letter of the law. All members will ensure that all people are treated fairly and equally.
