Van Alstyne ISD received $1,000,000 in Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief III (ESSER III) funds under the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act of 2021. The intent and purpose of the funding are to sustain the safe operation of schools and address student learning needs due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.  The ESSER III funds must be spent by September 2024.  Per requirements, the development of a plan for the use of these funds was made with educators and other required stakeholders.  

Van Alstyne ISD, in consultation with stakeholders, has identified three priority areas for the use of the ESSER III funds. These areas are:

• HVAC upgrades to support indoor air quality
• Learning loss intervention
• Cleaning supplies
