English Learners in Van Alstyne ISD will graduate as responsible, well-prepared individuals equipped with the college, career, and life skills necessary to contribute meaningfully to their communities.
Goal
We aim for ELLs to be Prepared while making learning Relevant. We also look for ways to keep our ELLs Engaged and Motivated through Innovative, research-based instructional practices that promote linguistic and academic proficiency. We take pride in our ability to Encourage students while fostering positive Relationships with these students and their families.
General Description
An ESL pull-out program model is an English acquisition program that serves students identified as English learners through English instruction. Van Alstyne ISD’s ESL pull-out program is designed to support English learners in developing proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Through targeted English instruction, students gain the language skills necessary to succeed academically across all content areas. Our program ensures that English learners receive the support they need while continuing to engage with grade-level curriculum.

Van Alstyne ISD is dedicated to equipping educators with the knowledge and strategies necessary to support English learners effectively. Ongoing professional development provides teachers with research-based instructional techniques that foster language proficiency and academic growth in all areas.
