Flu Information

header

Van Alstyne ISD monitors flu-like illness in students and staff daily. Van Alstyne ISD strongly emphasizes the importance of good health and hygiene habits. We strongly urge parents to keep their children home if they have any flu-like symptoms such as fever greater than 100 degrees Fahrenheit, sore throat, cough, body aches, vomiting or diarrhea until they are fever-free or without signs of a fever for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication.

Van Alstyne ISD agrees with the CDC's recommendation that healthy children aged 6 months and older should get a flu vaccine.
