P-EBT Information

The Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer, or P-EBT, application is open. You should have received a school email with more information on how to apply for these food benefits. P-EBT is for children who received SNAP food benefits for March 2020 and for children who are certified for free or reduced-price school meals during the 2019-20 Texas school year. You could receive up to $285 per child on a P-EBT card to purchase food at stores. Visit hhs.texas.gov/PEBT for more information. The link to the application is: https://yourtexasbenefits.com/Learn/PEBT.

Apart We Stand Together

We miss our students, and hope you are all well. This important message
about COVID-19 will help to keep you safe and healthy. The most important thing you can do right now is stay at home! If that’s not possible, practice social distancing by staying 6 feet from others. Wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds and disinfect frequently touched surfaces such as doorknobs and countertops. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth, and
cover a cough or sneeze with your elbow. If you have symptoms of COVID-19 – a fever, dry cough, or shortness of breath, call your doctor. Remember, by staying apart now, we can all be together again faster!

VA is 1 of the 51 districts in the state to score 5 STARS in TXSmartSchools

Using both academic progress and spending levels at Texas' school districts and individual school campuses, each district and campus has been assigned a Smart Score of one to five stars, indicating its success in combining cost-effective spending with the achievement of measurable student academic progress compared with their fiscal peers. Five stars reflects the strongest relative progress combined with the lowest relative spending. Van Alstyne ISD is the only district in Grayson County to receive all 5 STARS!!!!
