Van Alstyne ISD invites anyone interested in serving as a substitute teacher during the 2026-27 school year to attend our Substitute Teacher Training & Orientation.
We will offer two training sessions:
- Wednesday, July 22, at 9:00 a.m.
- Tuesday, Aug. 4, at 9:00 a.m.
Both sessions will be held at the Van Alstyne ISD Administration Building, 1096 N. Waco St.
Substitute teaching is a great opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students while enjoying a flexible schedule and supporting our schools.
Please bring the following documents to your training session:
- Driver's license
- Social Security card
- Voided check or bank documentation for direct deposit
- Copy of your teaching certification (if applicable)
- College transcripts (if applicable)
During the session, participants will complete training and orientation and have their photo taken for a VAISD identification badge.
