Van Alstyne ISD Board of Trustees officially approved the attendance zoning plan for the 2026–2027 school year.
During last night’s board meeting, the Van Alstyne ISD Board of Trustees officially approved the attendance zoning plan for the 2026–2027 school year. The updated zoning establishes new boundary lines for district campuses to accommodate enrollment growth and ensure balanced capacity across schools.
Why the Boundaries Changed
Van Alstyne ISD is opening its third elementary campus—Charles and Beth Williams Elementary—for the 2026–2027 school year. With the addition of this new school, adjustments to attendance boundaries were necessary to:
Distribute student enrollment across all three elementary campuses more evenly
Reduce overcrowding at existing schools
Ensure transportation routes and walking zones remain efficient and safe
Support long-term growth within the district
Next Steps
Our team is currently updating the district’s interactive zoning map to reflect the newly approved boundaries. Once the revisions are complete, families will be able to view the updated map online and verify which attendance zone their household falls within for the upcoming school year.
We will share a notification on the district website and through our communication channels as soon as the updated interactive map is available. Thank you for your patience and support as we prepare for the opening of Charles and Beth Williams Elementary and continue planning for the district’s growing student population.
