The Van Alstyne Unique Learners and Thinkers (VAULT) Gifted and Talented program is committed to the identification and development of advanced learners whose abilities and potential require differentiated educational opportunities. Grounded in nationally recognized gifted education standards and research (National Association for Gifted Children, 2021), VAULT seeks to provide rigorous, intellectually stimulating, and socially supportive environments that foster both academic excellence and personal growth.
Consistent with the work of Renzulli and Reis (2014) on the Schoolwide Enrichment Model, we recognize that giftedness extends beyond high academic performance to include creativity, problem-solving, and leadership. Our program emphasizes collaboration between educators and families, reflecting the philosophy that the optimal development of gifted students requires coordinated efforts, consistent communication, and a commitment to meeting their cognitive, social, and emotional needs.
Through this partnership, VAULT strives to equip students with the skills, habits of mind, and ethical responsibility necessary to translate their gifts into meaningful contributions to their communities and the world.
