Van Alstyne utilizes Bluebonnet for Math curriculum only. We continue to use American Reading Company (ARC) as our ELAR curriculum. We do not use Bluebonnet for ELAR.

• Outstanding Principal Balance = $244,560,000
• Authorized but Unissued Bonds = $111,500,000 
• As of August 2025 the Unissued Bonds from the 2021 Bond Election is $111,500,000. These funds are allocated as follows: $25,000,000 to complete Phase 2 Classroom Addition/Indoor/Auditorium. Remaining balance is for Secondary and Elementary capacity.

 

Anna ISD (as of October 2, 2025)

Effective Monday, September 29, 2025

The Board of Trustees has updated the dress code policy as follows:

Skirts and dresses must be fingertip length or longer.

Leggings must not be transparent or see-through. Additionally, a shirt that is at least mid-thigh in length must be worn over leggings.

Shorts must be at least mid-thigh in length.

• School bonds are voted on by residents of the school district, not necessarily by city residents.

• If you live outside city limits but your property is within the boundaries of the school district proposing the bond, you can vote on it.

• If your address is not within the school district proposing the bond, then you cannot vote on it.

 

• The Admin Building currently houses 12 Departments, 20 Offices, 43 Staff Members, 1 Training Room, and 1 Boardroom. The 43 staff members include: 18 in Education, 8 in Curriculum, 4 in Technology, 3 in Business, 3 in ESL/504/Testing, 2 in PEIMS, 2 in Administration, and 1 each in Child Nutrition, Police, and the Education Foundation.

 

VAISD currently operates five public schools:

• John & Nelda Partin Elementary School (K–4)

• Bob & Lola Sanford Elementary School (K–4)

• Charles and Beth Williams Elementary projected to open Fall 2026

• Van Alstyne Middle School (grades 5–6)

• Van Alstyne Junior High School (grades 7–8)

• Van Alstyne High School (grades 9–12)

 

Yes! A brand-new, state-of-the-art high school building (over 273,000 sq ft) was unveiled and opened at the start of the 2024–25 school year. It features modern facilities, including extensive Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs—like broadcasting, robotics, culinary arts—and offers certifications through Grayson College in fields like welding, HVAC, OSHA, and cosmetology 

• The former high school is now the Junior High (serving grades 7–8), and the previous middle school has become the Intermediate School (grades 5–6)

• There will be no I&S tax rate increase if the voters approve the bonds. Likewise, there will be no tax rate reduction if the voters do not approve the bonds.

• The debt service tax rate will remain at $0.50/per $100 of taxable value. Voters are voting on the issuance of new bonds.
