have two goals to accomplish within the next couple of minutes first I don't want you to hate yourselves for coming after listening to my and second I hope to actually make it to the speech as many of you know I'm not a planner and I'd I'm kind of an hour-by-hour guy when I found out I was the Centurion and have to give a speech immediately feel sorry for you guys Smiley Riley giving a speech now that's funny  but then I can hear coach Hardcastle on my head saying the wheelbarrow  for those who have you haven't had the privilege of hearing the speech that means get on board so because of coaches debate and is faith in me I'm standing here talking in front of hundreds of people  if I were to ask you to close your eyes what's your look like you can probably come up with dozens of images or the even the faces of people leave now  why you probably wouldn't picture is me saying giving a science  my high school career started with a major failure I feel that USC riding test my freshman year I know some of you are not checked it all just play along and exercise  I didn't make varsity baseball onto my jeans and I didn't make varsity football until my senior year  when it came time to get my driver's license is a no-brainer I passed the written test and buckles as I was leaving the parking lot I cut the turn short and the back we'll hit the curb at the end of my test lady asked me what I thought I did wrong I came up with him I could have possibly done I would ask did I do this and she reply no then ask how about this and again she would say no you finally had to tell me I fell before I even left the parking lot  I didn't get into the engineering program on my first choice College the reason why I'm standing here today is because I feel but I didn't quit and I never asked myself what if one citronella once row failure is the tuition you pay we all have experienced failure and many of us think of failing as being a negative experience it doesn't feel good to film and it is embarrassing when you do especially when you have a younger brother if he passes as a POC writing system drivers test the first time  I never hesitate to remind you of it class of 2016 just beginning a long list of failures what I want you to walk away with the is that feeling is learning planes W trying new things we are breaking away from the status quo phillinganes for separating a moment to thank my bill how to thank Dad and Grandad for teaching me what it looks like to be a strong Christian family oriented in con that I also want to thank you for all those hours in the Mom thank you for feeding me not just the spaghetti chicken tacos and potato soup but for feeding me enthusiasm the keeping me focused thank you for stealing the love of numbers and counting early I'll never forget sitting on the floor with you and Counting and eating gummy bears together  my brother's care for being competitive and holding me accountable Grandma and Grandpa for tribe driving from Arkansas to watch me play sometimes you were in the car longer than just got to having you in the stands my team for all the memories are wins or losses upsets upset stomachs end of the game celebrations and a recent chest bone that may or may not have led to an emergency dental appointment  made a great team baseball history and I don't know if you guys have heard or not but we're going to stay incidental seeing staff teachers coaches and administrators pushed us to be the best you can cursed us leadership resistance and enormous amount of patience  a Michael if he could put Miracle on 49th Street he writes what if ourselves to death but what if never does anybody any good all any of us ever have is one thing and we can we better make the most of it while we can what do I say we are lazy and pay our building to have relationships with others and volume conversations are being by the fact that we hide behind electronics and little glowing screens let me stand up for her inpatient entitled face hidden behind a screen so graduates  will be remembered in Van Alstyne as the class you took football volleyball softball basketball track tennis golf and nffa further than generation has more to offer administrators loved ones and families for getting us to this  Mom and Dad thank you for so carefully for me and of the young woman I am today graduates as we turn our castles and prepared to leave the school in town be that person that are teachers loved ones in town have worked so hard to shape us into and use it determine what your country thank you thank you
