5th Grade Placement for the 2018-2019 School Year After careful consideration, the Van Alstyne ISD Board of Trustees has decided that Van Alstyne Middle School will continue to house 5th-8th grades for the 2018-2019 school year. This means that students CURRENTLY in 4th grade will attend VAMS next year, for their 5th grade year.
