Fine Arts Night

VAN ALSTYNE, TEXAS, April 12, 2018 Van Alstyne ISD will host its first ever “Fine Arts Extravaganza” on Thursday evening, May 3, from 7-9 p.m., showcasing students involved in all genres of the Arts from all three campuses – elementary, middle and high school. The event will take place at Van Alstyne Middle School where three stages will be set to host all of the musical and theatrical performances, while artwork from the visual arts departments from all three campuses will line the walls.

Both Middle School and High School Theater Arts Departments will perform throughout the evening on the Cafeteria stage, with a couple of the High School Band Ensembles and the Elementary Choir interspersed. A stage set up in the Library will host the High School Choir, along with flute, clarinet and brass ensembles from the High School Band.  Finally, the Middle School Gym will become the stage for the Middle School Choir and Band, three percussion ensembles from the High School Band and a performance by the High School Color Guard.

As those in attendance travel back and forth from the various stages, they’ll be treated to the best works of art – paintings, drawings, sculptures, etc. – from the Art students at all three campuses.

“We are excited to host this ‘Extravaganza,’ and hope the community will come out to show their support for all of our students,” Fine Arts Director Tim Fulton said. “We have an amazing amount of talent for the size of our school district, and I can’t wait to show it off – all at one time, all in one place!”
