Emma Morgan, a senior at Van Alstyne High School, was named a National Merit Finalist. The National Merit Scholarship Program is initially based on students PSAT scores. Approximately 1.6 million students take the PSAT each year. Of those students, about 15,000 students are selected as Finalists each February.
On Friday, February 23, Emma's family and several teachers and friends gathered in the VAHS library to surprise and congratulate her on this major accomplishment. Emma plans to attend Texas A&M University in College Station and major in Engineering.
