VAISD is proud to announce Ms. Debbie Cholette as the new Principal of Van Alstyne Junior High.

Ms. Cholette brings a decade of experience in education to her new role; a majority of that time spent here in Van Alstyne ISD.

"My heart is full of gratitude. Stepping into the role of principal is both exciting and humbling, and I cannot think of a better place to be," Ms. Cholette said.

She began her VAISD journey at Van Alstyne Middle School, where she first served as an aide before spending several years as a Reading Language Arts teacher. Most recently, she served as Assistant Principal at Van Alstyne Junior High, where she helped foster a positive campus culture while building strong relationships with students, staff and families.

Ms. Cholette's dedication to serving others and her deep understanding of the VAJH community make her well-prepared to lead the campus into its next chapter.

"While my title has changed, my heart remains the same. I want to continue serving alongside the staff, supporting them, celebrating with them and doing whatever I can to help make VAJH the very best place for our students and staff," Ms. Cholette added.
