HB 4545

Panther Nation,

Recently, TEA released an update to the requirements of the new law known as HB 4545. These updates allow VAISD some flexibility in how we meet the requirements of the law and offer the required 30 hours of additional instruction for students who are unsuccessful on STAAR or EOC tests. We are going to offer the 30 hours during summer school OR during the school day next year. By having these options, students will now be able to attend any camps provided by the community or school. If your child is unsuccessful on the upcoming state assessment, you will be contacted by your child's campus to schedule a meeting to discuss your choice for your child and help us make the best plan possible for your student. We are relieved and glad to be able to offer some options that meet the needs for our parents and kids! Thank you.
