In order to keep courses balanced for all students, schedule changes are allowed the first seven school days. After the designated time above, all schedule changes must be approved by the principal. The following guidelines will be used in honoring changes/requests made after that date [VAHS Student Handbook 2023].
Changes requested after the designated time above will only be made for the following reasons:
- A student did not pass a class that was required for graduation.
- A student did not pass a course that was a prerequisite for another course.
- A student is enrolled in a course that he/she has previously taken or is scheduled into twice.
- A student is missing a required course.
- A student requests to be moved into, or out of, an advanced/dual credit course (Must have parent approval w/signature)
- A student requests out of, or into, athletics or band. This will require a coach or band director’s approval.
- A student requests out of a Honors, AP, or Dual Credit course. This will require a parent contact.
- A student was accidentally placed into the wrong course (Ex.: English 3 instead of English 2)
