Planning for the next elementary is well underway for Van Alstyne ISD. The district is currently experiencing over 10% growth with much of that growth at the lower levels. The district has added 5 new teachers this school year at the elementary due to the increase in student population. With new housing additions being added around the current elementary, a new elementary will be needed in the near future. With this in mind, the Board of Trustees has decided that a new kindergarten - fifth grade campus is necessary and planning should start immediately. The current plan will be to hold a bond election in May and begin construction this summer in order to open the new building at the beginning of the 2018 – 2019 school year. The location of the campus will be located South of the middle school track. The following diagram depicts the location and possible entrances and exits.
