Pompeii: Mosaic

This black and white mosaic of a dog is found in the entryway of the House of L. Caecilius Iucundus.  Caecilius was a prominent Pompeiian moneylender.  Perhaps, like the "Cave Canem" mosaic at the House of the Tragic Poet, this was intended to deter wrongdoers, although this dog seems much more docile than its more-famous counterpart.
