Pompeii: Inscription inside the amphitheater.

The inscription notes that Valgus and Porcius,  magistrates of Pompeii at the time, used their own money to begin construction of the amphitheater.  Note that Latin apparently lacked the term "amphitheater" and that the word "spectacula" has been used instead.

The same magistrates also donated funds for the construction of the smaller, covered theater nearby.
